AIA Central Valley, a local chapter of the American Institute of Architects, serves as the voice of the profession in our 17-county region. As well as being the leading community resource on architecture in our region, our programs, events, and leadership aim to inspire and support architectural excellence, advocacy, equity, and sustainability for our members and the public.

Our Design Awards Program is held every two years in conjunction with our Emerging Professionals Design Competition. The Emerging Professionals Design Competition launches in April 2025, with Design Awards opening in May 2025.

Our Architectura Obscura Photography Competition and Architecture Coloring Book are annual programs that typically launch in July or August.

All of these programs celebrate design excellence and the value of architects and architectural design to society. They also recognize the talent and skills of architects in our Central Valley region.
